“Jailhouse confessions and court testimony help psychologists probe the minds of children who have committed murder.” So the synopsis of E!’s “Too Young to Kill; 15 Shocking Crimes” introduces us to a gruesome reality that is oftentimes [purposely] diverted from our conscience.

Its horrific enough to have to see both “children” and “murder” in the same sentence yes, but more so due to the fact that we are talking about 15 such cases. Let’s not delve into the cognitive, psychoanalytic or eclectic schools of psychology used to understand such behavior (we’ll only scratch the iceberg’s surface in this post). We won’t even jump into the ethics pool – discussing whether these children (with most of them under the age of 15 when the murders took place), should or shouldn’t have been tried as adults in criminal court.

That there are certain common denominators that are weaved throughout the threading of all 15 cases goes without saying. Some, like having grown up in abusive, violent homes come as no surprise to both academics and non. But there is one similarity in most of the stories that, although not obviated by the documentary, should illuminate both the hobbyist and security-conscious gun owner alike: the children didn’t purchase their weapons used for their heinous crimes on the streets; rather, they used their parent’s firearms without having to leave their own homes.

I’m not excusing the behaviors of all 15 kids who committed the crimes. But I could not help but asking myself while watching Too Young, “Could the outcomes have been different if the children did not have access to the firearms?” I won’t digress on the what ifs that perplex even the wisest sages of our day, yet the entire documentary does highlight the need for gun owners to ensure the safety of their firearms: preventing unauthorized access by anyone (especially children), who live under the same roof.

Quick-access, fingerprint-access gun safes trump a gun owner’s potential concern(s) about not having his or her handgun and pistol readily available in the event of a break-in/burglary. Visit our Gun Safes category page to find the right gun and pistol safe for your home or office; biometric/fingerprint, in-wall, quick-access, electronic, drawer and rifle safes are offered in order that you find the best protection solution for your home or office.

Can your gun safe save a life?

Biometric safes are taking the safes industry by the horns and hooking customer interest by promoting features that offer user flexibility, portability and above all, security. As a direct response to the increasing demand for biometric & fingerprint handgun/pistol safes, BUYaSafe.com has rounded out their selection of this very-popular niche of safes.

Already featured on the site’s homepage prominently, the BioBox from SmartTouch Biometrics continues to woo potential buyers by offering the most portable of the biometric line of safes currently offered. Heavy-duty 17-gauge steel and an [included] backup mechanical key are just a couple of reasons (out of dozens), why the serious biometric safe shopper might consider the BioBox first. Also a biometric safe, although a lot bigger than the BioBox, the Bio Vault 2.0’s (Sequiam Biometrics) specifications are better suited for the traveling recreational vehicle (RV), boat or mounted to the floor in a closet.

Not to be outdone by either the BioBox or the BioVault 2.0, BUYaSafe.com recently introduced an exciting new addition to their line of biometric safes in the InPrint biometric pistol box. The InPrint pistol box shares the biometric access features of the BioBox and BioVault, along with a spring-loaded door that was designed to aid in accessing your handgun or pistol faster. Oh, did we mention that InPrint manufacturers their biometric safe in the Heartland of the United States?!

Visit the biometric safes category page of BUYaSafe.com to view the different biometric access options available for you to peruse or purchase.

While many Americans crowded the floors of retail businesses over the (gasp!) final weekend before Christmas, a California family experienced it quite like nobody else. While playing in the showroom of a Sacramento-area Costco, the family’s 11 year old boy managed to get himself trapped in a display safe that very much demonstrated the extent of such a product’s purpose.

Reactions on Twitter have been mixed, with a few tweets embodying the spirit of Stephen Colbert’s Wag of the Finger segment – with a finger pointed directly at the boy’s parents.

Though easy to cast blame on the child’s guardians (in this case his parents), it is also easy to lose sight of the fact that not all parents tether their children with monkeys and koala harnesses (especially not an 11 year old).

Read the entire story, Boy Locked Inside Costco Gun Safe at KCRA.com.
